Since the late 1970's there has been the quest to accelerate the rate of development activities in Africa by the African private sector, governments and the international financial institutions.

Consequently, with the increasing number of development programmes set against some priorities and some subsequent projects being mismanaged by both clients' representatives and foreign consultants who mostly originate and operate from outside Africa, there was a need to involve indigenous African firms with the requisite financial and technical resources to correct such anomalies and ensure a good follow-up, leading to lasting success of the projects.

Outside the African continent, Tabcon is associated with some of the top consulting firms. These firms are equipped with both the requisite technical and financial resources and the co-operation with Tabcon makes their engagement on projects feasible and effective in the developing countries of Africa.

Tabcon may call such specialized firms to perform certain functions, depending on the area of specialization, the magnitude of the intervention and the timing to augment the efforts of Tabcon. Tabcon may also offer “Back-stopping” and “Support Services” for such firms in Africa.
